Stuart Ballantyne is a leading sports and entertainment event producer with extensive experience delivering large-scale spectator events. Now in his eleventh year with Oilers Entertainment Group in Edmonton, he serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of Rogers Place and ICE District. During his tenure, he launched the Oil Country Championship (PGA TOUR Canada), led the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, and expanded OEG’s portfolio of premier sports properties. Previously, he was CEO of the Prince George 2015 Canada Winter Games Host Society and held senior leadership roles with the Vancouver Giants and major initiatives surrounding the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.
Over his career, Stuart has directed some of Canada’s most successful sporting events, including the 2009 World Police and Fire Games, the 2007 MasterCard Memorial Cup, and the 2006 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships—each setting records for attendance, media reach, and financial success. He has also held senior positions with Molson’s sports and entertainment division and began his career with Bridgestone (Canada) Inc. In recognition of his leadership and contributions to sport, he has been inducted into the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame and awarded the BCIT Distinguished Alumni Award, along with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee and Platinum Jubilee Medals.
